Shannon Blackburn was born and raised in Spring, Texas, graduating from Spring High School. She met her husband there during band camp the summer before 9th grade and they have been together since.

Shannon obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing at Lone Star College North Harris, married her high school sweetheart, and began working as a Registered Nurse. After five years of nursing she went back to school at The University of Texas at Arlington where she obtained both her Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing followed by her Master’s of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner Certification.

Shannon’s Registered Nursing career spanned 13 years where she worked mostly in the Adult Intensive Care Unit at HCA Kingwood and Houston Methodist in the Woodlands. She wanted to become a Family Nurse Practitioner so she could help people live healthy lives through preventative medicine and manage their chronic health conditions.

Shannon’s husband is a Captain in the Spring Fire Department. They have two daughters and enjoy going to Astros games, spending time with their neighbors at their home in Willis, Texas, going to car shows and traveling to different places around the United States.
