Amy Johnson, Nurse Practitioner

Amy Johnson was born and raised in a small town in the Missouri boot heel. She moved to Houston in 1988 and has been here ever since.

Amy attended Lonestar College-Cyfair for her basic nursing education, she then followed that up with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas @ Arlington, going back to UTA several years later to complete her education with a Master’s of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner certification.

Amy’s first nursing job was at Baylor, Scott & White hospital in Brenham. At this rural hospital, Amy became experienced at taking care of a variety of patient populations from geriatrics, to post-surgical, to pediatrics. She also spent time as a school nurse and as a neonatal intensive care nurse at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

Amy’s focus as a family nurse practitioner is on holistic care. She believes that the only way to heal a patient is by treating the whole person and addressing all of their concerns whether they be physical, mental, or spiritual.

Amy is a recent empty nester with a daughter in college. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, playing with her two dogs and two cats, and spending time with loved ones.
